matching panel was today, was an early start, we were 1st up
not as nervy as approval panel but still slightly so due to the possibility of a no
however i am glad to say we got an unaminous YES!
we are going to be mummy and daddy to a gorgeous little boy aged 2
we start intros in January with a move date of mid Jan
we can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not long now
well things are well on their way, we go to meet lo's fc's 6th dec so that's less than a week away, and then after that it is the big one.......MP is on 12th Dec so under 2 weeks now :)
hopefully if we get the ok, we can start buying what we need, all decisions decisions lol
got to get xmas and new year outta the way and then the next big step is intros.........which are pencilled in for 10 days starting beginning of Jan
all exciting times and we just can't wait for it all to happen!!

14th October 2011
today was the day we went to meet lo's consultant, this meeting went really well the prognosis for lo was a lot better than we were expecting, not that we would have been put off if it hadn't been :)
we also met with lo's sw, she was really nice, and we got to see an updated dvd on lo, just so adorable : D
next steps are;
24/10 - our sw and lo's coming to us to discuss placement report etc
6/12 - meeting paediatrician, portage/physio and lo's fc
12/12 - matching panel
we are so happy things are moving along

more and more progress :)
well our LA held their selection meeting today, to discuss the match between us and lo....and it went well!
we are seeing lo's sw and consultant on the 14th, then lo's sw and ours are coming to us on 24th!
not only that, but also pencilled in a matching panel date for December!!!!!!!!
AND they want us to go there before matching panel to meet with them, lo's carers and lo!
GOSH it all seems to be happening!

one step closer :)
another step forward, been re-approved today (5 months later then should have been), so now we hope things will move forward with our possible match!!!!

more progress!!!!!
more has been happening than it seems, as mentioned before we have our 1yr review on 26th Sept, now on top of that we have our sw coming to see us with more info on the lo we are looking at, they then are holding a selection meeting on 7th oct to discuss the possible match etc
then after this we have 24th Oct pencilled in for a visit by lo's sw, we've had lo's cpr to read, our par has gone to his/her sw to read
so all in all, things are happening and progressing and our sw hopes it will all be done by xmas :-o

small wee update
finally got the date for panel for our review...it's only going to be 5 months late on 26th September, but then hopefully things should move quicker!

just an update of sorts
not much been happening recently, all been plodding along at a snails pace!
had our updated PAR through to check over....finally!!
got our sw's boss lady coming tomorrow to do a new 2nd opinion visit as our sw did the last one, then next week they are gonna start talking and hopefully arranging our new panel date, this is for the review that was due in april.....only 4 months late so far!!!!!!
doing well on the weight loss as required, up to now nearly 3st off......way to go me!!!!!!!!!!
still got the same lo's in mind for us, so hopefully things will start to progress further with one of them and if they get their fingers out we may end up with a lo by christmas this year!
so got all crossed that tomorrow goes ok and that we can finally move on.......so bored, frustrated etc etc now!!

latest visit by our social worker!
well our 'lovely' social worker came yesterday for yet another visit, we have tried to maximise space in our house - not easy when it is a small house anyway! she seemed ok with it all though!
she was going to show us a dvd of a lo but plans have changed and is no longer a viable option, however she did show us another DVD of a different lo we had expressed an interest in and all i can say is adorable!
basically not to much to report this time, she was pleased with the progress made with losing weight since January when brought up in a visit, still no progress on when we will be back to panel for our annual review - was only meant to be in April so only a few months late!
oh well will continue doing what we are doing and enjoy the time we have left as just the two of us before it all changes hopefully!

ARRGGGH!! Damn social workers!
well we had our medicals, they went ok no problems picked up on........no surprises there then!
our social worker and her colleague came, they saw my parents first....my mum NOT impressed with her in the slightest!
well they came to house, had look round, did h&s check, then had the cheek to say oh it's nice but it's not finished yet is it? cheeky f'''ing bitch! so not impressed with that!
the profiles supposedly brought with them, one we had already seen, the 2nd was very limited info, and the 3rd when read properly couldn't be placed in LA or where we lived.......and this was the family finder who came!!!!!
asked about panel and when going back, sw says doesn't know yet as waiting for updates from refs to come back and wants more info to put in, so looking unlikely that we will be back before panel in April like said previously......annoyed as its like we never jumped through enough hoops for them last year!
oh and then she says that when goes before panel WE COULD GET DE-REGISTERED WTF!
or could get deferred for few weeks etc......makes you wonder why you bother!
oh and could we stop enquiring about children in CWW and BMP concentrate on no more than 3 at a time!

more medicals and SW visit tomorrow
well we have to go for yet another medical tomorrow (10th), this will be our 3rd in approx 18 months.......nothing changed except for weight issues etc.
after these our SW is coming down to do the house safety check at long last, should all be ok now as had all the work that needed doing done and all nicely decorated and new flooring down.
she is bringing one of her colleagues with her to give another SW's viewpoint on what we have to offer (probably nothing) etc, she happens to be the family finder of one of the children's profiles our SW is bringing with her.....not intentionally but could it be a positive or will we need to carry on the search?
i guess we will find out!

new house, new year, new beginnings
well all moved in now, trying to get settled in and sorted, seems to take forever and an age!
had sw visit, was meant to be doing the new safety check on house, but now is leaving it until march time, wants us to get the house decorated and sorted first! so little time and so little money!
our approval has had to be reassessed after disruption with little man, so that's now not going back before panel until April, which will be our year review as well.
hopefully things will get ok'd no problem and we can get on with finding our child!
we did get told about a couple of littlies saw the profile of one, when she came, and we will keep looking in BMP and CWW, also got exchange day next month to look forward to!

New Year - will this be the year?
well a new year is upon us, will this be the year we find our child?
before this can even happen we have a bigger obstacle to overcome - MOVING!!!!
yes we move in less than one weeks time..............help!!
after this, our sw is coming to see us to do the house safety check and also bringing us some profiles to look at...so exciting will our child be there?
finally, we have invite to exchange day in feb and by then our par will have been back to panel....so it's all go!
